January, February, March

  • Equipment is serviced and repaired, if necessary, for the coming year.
  • Seedlings and transplants are ordered for the Spring planting.
  • Vacations are taken to refresh us for the coming year.

April & May

  • Fields are prepared for Spring planting.
  • Fertilizing, spraying and some trimming is done on some species of trees.
  • Brush hog on finished fields.

June, July & August

  • Pruning (trimming) of all trees needing to be trimmed.
  • Field tagging of trees to be harvested in the Fall.
  • Color enhancer is applied to trees to be harvested in the Fall.
  • Our wholesale customers start coming to look at the trees that are available to purchase.

September

  • Pruning will continue, if not already done.
  • Preparation of some harvest items will be done.

October

  • Last minute harvest preparation is done.

November

  • Cutting until shipping time starts in mid November.
  • Day after Thanksgiving our retail lot opens for tree sales, wreaths, garland, maple syrup, and more.
  • Our trees are brought into our shipping yard.  They are placed under large Red Pines to protect them from the sun and wind and to help them hold their moisture.  This process has been used for 40 years.
  • Shipping begins about mid-November and continues into December.
  • Our trees are shipped to over 22 states.

December

  • Shipping continues.
  • Cutting is done for late orders.
  • Our retail lot remains open until Christmas Eve.
  • We visit some of our wholesale buyers to see how they are doing and what the market is doing.

Starting December 16th, 2024 our choose and cut fields will be closed for the season. We still have plenty of fresh trees left to choose from on our lot. Thank You!
